Honduran-Venezuelan cellist Andres Sánchez, born in Allentown, PA, began his studies at age eight under Miguel Rojas, later continuing with Jesus Morales of the Dali Quartet. By age 13, he had already made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall and with the Midwest Clinic of Chicago and the Ocean City Pops Orchestra. A Curtis Institute of Music graduate, Andres has performed with numerous orchestras and will appear this year with the PA Sinfonia Orchestra and Waterbury Symphony. His interpretation of Dvořák’s concert promises to be both powerful and moving, bringing this iconic piece to life in a way that will resonate with audiences.

What is a masterclass?
A masterclass allows our student musicians to perform repertoire for a master musician(s), composer, or conductor. Once the student(s) has performed, the master artist will critique the performance, giving them advice on instrumental and performance technique.
